Our History

The name FLUXiM has its roots in the concept of Flux Simulation, reflecting the company's commitment to pioneering advancements in this field. Our journey began at the Institute of Computational Physics at the Zürich University of Applied Sciences, where our team cultivated expertise in developing new cutting-edge technologies.

In 2006, Prof. Dr. Beat Ruhstaller took the initiative to harness this knowledge and experience, establishing FLUXiM as a spin-off company. Since then, we have been dedicated to fostering innovation and delivering world-class software and hardware tools to help boost R&D.

Our Products

Setfos and Laoss, our software solutions, are developed to simulate LEDs, solar cells and photodetectors (including organic, perovskites, and quantum-dots) at both lab and industrial scales.

This software significantly enhances the R&D processes by simulating light absorption or outcoupling, charge generation, transport, and recombination in different semiconducting devices.

Our hardware lineup, including Paios, Phelos, Litos, and Litos Lite, consists of integrated measurement platforms with embedded analysis software to enable efficient electrical and optical device characterization, parameter extraction, and model validation.

Our R&D Services

In addition to our core products, we offer supplementary services such as professional consulting, additional training sessions, custom software development, and specific device characterization to cater to the diverse needs of our clients. We encourage you to explore our references and client testimonials to gain further insight into the scope and quality of our activities.

Meet the Fluxim Team

It takes a lot of talented people to develop advanced research tools. We are thankful that over the last 20 years, we have managed to attract the best and brightest minds across multiple disciplines. At the heart of Fluxim is our R&D team whose research drives the technological advancements of every tool. Our Software and Hardware teams take this work and develop it into the products that researchers (like us) want to use. And of course, you wouldn’t know about us if it wasn’t for our sales, marketing, and admin teams.

Academic Research Projects

Our PhD students represent another core value here at Fluxim—our continued commitment to academic excellence, in particular through collaborative research projects. Throughout our history, we have collaborated on many R&D projects thanks to the funding afforded by European and Swiss research grants. Through these collaborations, researchers benefit from better tools to assist their work. We are proud to have also contributed to the development of a new generation of researchers, many of whom stay on as employees of Fluxim after defending their PhD.

What’s it like working at Fluxim?

We value our team and strive to provide a supportive and stimulating work environment. We are not just employees, we are parents, students, husbands, and wives. Fluxim offers flexible working hours and the ability to work from home when needed. We offer opportunities for personal and professional growth, including training and development programs, access to cutting-edge technology, and a collaborative work culture that encourages exploration and experimentation. We are also very fond of an Apéro or two and employees are encouraged to organize team events such as ski days, hiking, and cycle tours.

We currently have two offices within Katharina Sulzer Platz with a communal lunch and coffee area, a terrace for when the weather is fine, free tea/coffee and a weekly fruit basket (if you’re quick enough).

When we have positions available we are looking for individuals who are passionate about their work, driven to excel, and eager to contribute. If you share our values and are looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity to shape the future of Fluxim, we would love to hear from you.
